I left home at 7:48am. Easy drive to the airport. Then, my flight was delayed! I’m glad I brought a book. The flight itself was 10 1/2 hours. I had a five hour layover in Amsterdam, which turned into a 6 1/2 hour layover. Finally arrived at Madrid airport had an easy connection with the bus to the train station and then a 20 minute walk to my hotel. I got to my hotel 26 1/2 hours after I left my home. I don’t have time to sightsee in Madrid this time but I am coming through with a spare day on my way home so hopefully I will see some of the city then. I saw some gorgeous buildings on the bus ride from the airport.
