Day 0 - Arriving at the start…
I am in St Jean Pied de Port the most popular starting point of El Camino De Santiago(Frances). It was an early start today in the predawn. I took the train from Madrid to Pamplona, and then walked half an hour to catch the bus from Pamplona to St Jean Pied de Port. I met several other pilgrims while on the train. 3 of them opted to get a taxi to St Jean and 2 of us already had bus tickets so we walked to the train station. Madrid in the predawn. To Portomarin
For about two weeks my right knee has been giving me a lot of pain. In fact, two nights ago at Fonfria, I hardly slept at all because of the pain. When I got to Sarria yesterday I was in so much pain I could barely walk. I’ve done everything I possibly can; I’ve been to the pharmacy; got all the right creams. I elevate my legs after my walk I have a compression sleeve that I use, but it just keeps getting worse. Last night I couldn’t sleep at all because of the pain. I felt sure I was going to have to stop the walk and come home early. So in the middle of the night not being able to sleep, it seemed a good time to pray. I told Jesus that no matter what happened I would continue to trust Him, and praise him for all the help He’s already given in this difficult endeavor. I very rarely pray for myself, but last night I told Jesus that I would prefer to be able to finish this walk, and I would like to finish it without pain. I asked Him to heal my knee.
