To Bercianos de las Real Camino
A lovely walk today. More trees and variety of scenery. Also, it was sunny but cool.
I passed several of these homes built into the hill.
My morning tortilla came with a plum. The plum had rock salt on it and some kind of bitter sauce. I’m on the fence about that taste.
I came to the geographical mid point of the Camino in Spain. It was at the Ermita de la Virgin de Los
These were two ladies that I have met from time to time on the trail. One from Australia and one from S Korea. Lots of fun.
On to the town of Sahagún. This town has been fought over by Christians and Muslims for years. Most of the churches were completely destroyed. The Sanctuario de la Virgin de las Peregrinas has been restored as a museum. It’s where they hand out the official “half way” certificates.
I had a delicious meal at 3pm at my Albergue. Starters was this melon and cured ham. Sooo tasty.
The walk was a little longer than I thought, but overall a good day.
